So, about that bad timing - Brian brought Trooper home on Friday, and Saturday morning, we packed up the car and headed out for a weekend in Newport at Lee and Lisa Newman's house. Probably not the best thing to do with a new dog, but we had been planning on this weekend for quite a while and did not want to miss it!
Lee and Lisa have the best spot, their property butts up to the MacKenzie Slough which connects to the Newport Harbor. There's nothing like walking out your back door and throwing a kayak into the slough for a quick paddle!
We had a wonderful weekend with friends, ate great food and listened to some fun live music compliments of "Bernie and the Slough Rats."
We had a great time and hope we didn't bring the mood down because we were stressed out about how and what Trooper was doing the whole time.
(And by stressed out, I mean Brian lost 7 pounds that weekend from worrying!
How do men do that!?!)
We only had one small incident with the dog, involving destruction of the interior of Brian's car, which could have been attributed to many factors, but the overall weekend was fantastic and we can wait to get out there and visit Lee and Lisa again!
