Not Exactly on the Project List...

But when the husband suggests TWO new flower beds, I don't argue!

My hunny dug up the sod and tilled the dirt.

Then we compacted the dirt a bit and laid out the weed barrier fabric....

We created little rock features, by using up the pile of rocks that have been sitting in our backyard for almost two years! 

Love not having to buy materials for projects, BONUS!

Added compost and soil and repositioned our rock features...

And last but not least, we spent an hour or so at the nursery picking out our favorites, then went home and planted them in between rain showers!

We both love how it turned out and it really adds a lot of appeal to the front of the house.

(And as Brian says, the less grass to mow, the better!)
