The Little Gremlin

I'm sure you've noticed the nickname we've given baby McD, and I'm sure you're wondering...

AMC GREMLIN vs. GIZMO the GREMLIN
Classic Americanadian car vs. Strange Fuzzy creature

The AMC Gremlin is a two-door subcompact car produced in the United States and Canada by the American Motors Corporation (AMC) between 1970 and 1978. Designed by Bob Nixon from an idea by Richard A. Teague, the car was based on a shortened and adapted Hornet platform with a Kammback-type tail. Faster than other subcompacts of the time, it competed with the Chevrolet Vega and Ford Pinto, and also with imported cars including the VW Beetle and Toyota Corona. The manufacturer described it as "the first American-built import." The Gremlin was introduced on April 1, 1970, and a total of 671,475 were built in its single generation (one chassis design and body style).
 vs.
Gremlins is a 1984 American horror comedy about a young man who receives a strange creature called a Mogwai as a pet, which then spawns other creatures who transform into small, destructive, evil monsters. . .

...but the cute, nice one who was the pet (or so I understand since I never saw this gem of a film) is Gizmo the gremlin,  hence the current namesake of the fetus - Little Gremlin.

Why? Just because.  We wanted something different than bean, peanut or sprout, and I wasn't feeling comfortable with little alien.

*Disclaimer* Don't look up pictures of the mean Gremlins - that is not the image we want you to have in your heads when you think of baby McDonald!  :)
