Remembering my Grammy

I know I'm incredibly lucky.
Not everyone gets to know their grandparents as well as I've gotten to know mine. . .
some don't ever get to know theirs.

I'm thankful for all the good memories, thankful for all the good times.
I know how special it is that I got to hear stories about the old times first hand, how my grandparents met, how things were done way back when.
I'm thankful I got to know who raised my mother.
I'm thankful I got to learn where my mom gets her stubbornness, her confidence, her strength.
I'm thankful for all the years I had to enjoy time with my Grammy.

Plans for Warmer Weather

In my anticipation for warmer weather, this is my new favorite website!
If I can't PLANT yet, at least I can PLAN! Isn't it wonderful!?
I love flowers, always have, but I'm not the best at visualizing how they will all look together.
This website is perfect for me!

This is the garden I have picked out for the side of the house - I tilled and pulled weeds this last Saturday to get it all ready! We even have ferns that are there naturally and a little bit of color is just what the side of the house needs! This plan is simple and cute.

And I can envision these two plans flourishing in the front of the house.

I love all the color!

Happy Planning leads to Happy Planting!
Now if that warmer weather would just get here already!

Happy Birthday Lil' Sister!

You're all grown up now.

It's hard to imagine you as the little girl who followed me around everywhere,
wanting to do what I did, wanting to wear what i wore. . . you were so annoying.

These days, I wonder when I'll see you next, I want to know what you're doing,
what you're wearing. . . funny how time changes things.

One thing that has never changed, and never will change, is how much I love you.
Happy Birthday Bethany Raelene!

XOXO

Weekend Crafting

I'm having a ton of fun creating cute little surprises for the little ones in our field.

This weekend, I was inspired by a blog (which I can't seem to find right now), and whipped up a cute tutu (with a matching headband) for little Miss Maizie!
Not bad for my first try, it was super simple and I already have a ton of ideas on how to FANCIFY the next attempt!
What a cute little princess!
