Reflecting

A good friend told me, more than once, I was a bad reflector.
Meaning, when I looked back on things, the past for example, I would remember more easily the times that I'd failed instead of any victories. "There you go, reflecting," he'd say.Well today I turn 28.

I smiled this morning and thought of my friend because I wanted to tell him, I'm not a bad reflector any more. Birthdays are definitely a time for reflection, and as I've been thinking back over the last couple of years, I think of how many smiles there have been, how many wonderful memories that have been created.

For me, I've found my Love, I returned home to the NW, I've rekindled old friendships and made many more dear friends, my Love and I are building a home together -- The good times really do far outweigh the bad and we shouldn't let a few dark spots rob us from all the things that help to make this life beautiful.

I'm encouraged as I think that those smiles and those wonderful memories have laid the groundwork for many more wonderful years ahead. Keep building, friends!

What an adorable baby picture, Mari. Just wanted to wish you a happy 28th birthday. Did you know that it's Rob's 56th birthday today? Wow!! He's twice as old as you. That makes us seem really old!!! I read your blog a lot and like to see what you guys are doing to beautify your house (it looks great, by the way) but I rarely comment. I just had to speak up today since you and Rob share the same birthday, just 28 years apart!!! Have a great year!!!
